Andy Cohen is the Bravo king and on his late-night show Watch What Happens Live he always has high-profiled guests. For the Father’s Day episode, Cohen invited his close friend Anderson Cooper to make an appearance. This time, the CNN anchor was not alone as he appeared with his son Wyatt who is only a few weeks old. The sweet moment instantly became a classic.
Ben meets Wyatt
For Cooper’s first Father’s Day celebration as a father, he made an appearance on the Bravo late-night show with his newborn son. Fans of the cable network were able to witness the first time that Cohen’s son Ben met Cooper’s son Wyatt.
“I thought it would be fun if they met right now,” Cohen says while holding Ben. “Look, that’s going to be your good buddy Wyatt.”
The tender moment saw both fathers with their respective sons meeting each other for the first time. There was a moment when Cooper held his baby like Rafiki did to Simba on The Lion King.
“Wyatt looks like a mini-you Anderson,” Cohen added.
Cooper noted that Wyatt’s outfit looked like a 1920’s bathing suit.
“Ben, this is Wyatt,” Cohen told his son. “He’s going to be your good buddy. You’re going to travel together… And if you like him half as much as I like his daddy, you’re going to be great friends.”
Fans can’t get enough
As soon as the clip of the moment was shared on social media, fans could not comment enough on the cuteness overload the had just witnessed. Reactions came pouring in commenting on the sweet moment made possible by Bravo.
“You two should be together,” a fan said. “You are amazing together. The energy is off the rails. What a power couple you would be for your children who are gorge.”
“Oh my gosh! This is gorgeous,” a viewer added. “Anderson, many congratulations. Your constant kisses reminded me how I was when my son was a baby.”
“You don’t know how happy this makes me, never thought I’d see it,” a Twitter user noted.
“This really melted my heart. Adorable,” another fan mentioned.
“So sweet, I had tears in my eyes watching this moment,” another viewer commented. “Very happy you two got to be fathers. Happy Father’s Day.”
“What a wonderful thing to see on Father’s Day,” another Twitter user said. “I watch both of you every weekday on very different channels.”
Anderson Cooper welcomes baby boy
It was at the end of April when Cooper announced on social media and his news show that he had welcomed a baby boy.
“I want to share with you some joyful news,” he wrote. “On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was.”
The TV journalist explained how he named Wyatt and why he chose the names he did.
“My son’s middle name is Morgan. It’s a family name on my mom’s side,” he continued. “I know my mom and dad liked the name Morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy.”
